Students : Collection Tours
Are you interested in organising a Collections tour for KidsCan?
For those of you unaware what a collection tour is or how it works, a collection tour basically is a bunch of volunteers heading out on a series of collections. A tour can be made up of 4, 5 or 6 collections spread out over a week with days off in between.
Here at KidsCan we have been organising collection tours since 2004. Our tours have spanned across the M62 from Liverpool to Hull, from the midlands to London, from Norwich to London and through south coast seaside towns.
We at KidsCan will offer as much help as possible with setting up a tour, finding accommodation, organising discounted or free food where possible and (calendar permitting) sending a dedicated member of staff along on the tour. We managed to make it to two out of the three tours held for KidsCan this year.
If you’re interested in organising, helping organise or just taking part in a collection tour, please get in touch with KidsCan today!
Collection Tours History
Our longest running collection tour has been with Warwick RAG. Over the three years and four tours that Warwick RAG has been taking part in, they have raised £19,300.67 for KidsCan. This is a fantastic amount and we a very grateful for the valuable contribution Warwick Rag has made to our cause over the past years and we look forward to arraigning further tours with them in the future.
Also a special mention for Cambridge RAG for their tour 2010 collection tour. Their tour from Derby to London, taking in Leicester, Warwick, Coventry, Watford in between, raised over £12,000 for KidsCan this Easter. This amazing amount was raised in just 5 days of collecting (with no days off in between)
If you have any interesting stories from Collection Tours past, and your wanting to share them, please get in touch with us, we would love to hear from you!
