Gracie and Laura are not alone. 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year. Many of them will face gruelling treatments which will rob them of many of their favourite things; playing out with friends, going to school, dance lessons, football practice, even enjoying their favourite foods. Fortunately, four in five will survive, despite the harsh treatments, but one in five will lose their lives to this dreadful disease.
Survival is not enough – we want every child with cancer to enjoy a full life, without side effects from the treatment. Of the four in five who survive, many will face a future like Laura’s. At Kidscan, we think we can do better – but we need your help. Through ground breaking research we CAN ensure every child with cancer will survive and thrive.
