Fundraising Manager (Corporate)

About Us:

Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research is dedicated to finding safer treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. After years of success in the North West Region, we are now in a position to drive the charity forward with the goal of becoming a national charity.

We are now looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager who has the drive and ambition to help steer Kidscan through this exciting time. Your main responsibility in this role will be to take a lead in two major income streams – Corporate Fundraising and Trusts and Grants.

As we are a charity, we strive to ensure that every £1 we spend generates £3, therefore you will be expected to fundraise at least 3 times your salary in the above areas collectively.

The Role:

  • You will have direct responsibility both for leading corporate and trusts & grants fundraising and building a team to support you in doing this.
  • You will be expected to undertake hands on fundraising. The minimum expected level of fundraising revenue is three times salary with five times salary the goal.
  • To assist in the develop and implementation of the organisation’s fundraising strategy, maximising efficiency and the return on investment
  • Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to the trustee board and the internal leadership team.
  • Establish and build a strong, effective and constructive working relationship with key stakeholders, these include but are not limited to the Trustee Board, the leadership team, team members, supporters, ambassadors and all other stakeholders that you interact with on a day to day basis.

The Person

  • Commercial Focus. Identifies and sells new fundraising opportunities for the organisation. Handles commercial risk and negotiations with confidence.
  • Persuading and influencing. Candidates will have an ability to influence and persuade and be able to negotiate to find and generate new income opportunities.
  • Communicating with impact. Communicates with others confidently. Relates well to people across different situations. Delivers presentations with skill and confidence.
  • Leading others. As Fundraising Manager, it is important that the successful candidate takes responsibility for achieving revenue targets and helping the team in meeting their targets.
  • Building networks. Takes the initiative in making new contacts. Maintains strong and productive relationships. Communicates frequently with their network of contacts.
