Volunteer Fundraising Group Chair

Bring your community together to beat childhood cancer.

Are you a team player with good communication skills? Are you well networked with a good knowledge of your local community? Do you love to socialise and meet people from all different backgrounds? Then we want to hear from you!

Volunteers are at the heart of our communities and we’re looking for a number of volunteers to setup and chair a local fundraising group within their local area.

Currently over 60% of childhood cancer survivors will suffer life-limiting side effects caused by treatments that damage their bodies. These side effects last a lifetime and can include hearing loss, organ & bone problems and even infertility.

We are one of the only charities in the UK solely dedicated to finding safe new treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. By finding therapies that only target cancerous cells, we hope to create a world where every child can survive cancer and thrive throughout adulthood without suffering side-effects.

By setting up your own fundraising group can help us to raise money for vital childhood cancer research. As a fundraising group founder you will:

  • Plan and co-ordinate fundraising events and activities as a team
  • Organise local collections & support the processing of local collection tins
  • Think creatively to identity new ideas and opportunities in your local area
  • Represent Kidscan in your local area by attending events & cheque presentations
  • Encourage others including local groups to support Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research
  • Increase awareness of childhood cancer in your area by taking part in Kidscan and National awareness campaigns
  • Work with the Kidscan Team to process local donations and keep accurate and up to date records
  • Receive a full induction, training and support from the Kidscan Team
  • Be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses
  • Have the opportunity to visit the Kidscan labs to see how your fundraising makes an impact.

Fundraising Group Members must:

  • Be passionate about fundraising and finding safe new treatments for children with cancer and supporting those affected by the disease.
  • Live in the Salford or Manchester Area
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 2-4 hours each month which may increase depending on any fundraising activities established. This includes up to 6 meetings per year, in person or via video conference

With chair, treasurer and secretary positions available it’s a great opportunity to develop your skills and enhance your CV.

Deadline for Applications: 30th July 2021
Interviews: w.c 9th August 2021
