Volunteer Collection Tin Co-Ordinator

Help raise money for vital childhood cancer research

Do you have a good local knowledge of your area and a passion for fundraising? Are you reliable and organised with good numeracy skills? Then we want to hear from you!

We are looking for a number of volunteers to distribute, manage and service collection tins in their local area.

Currently over 60% of childhood cancer survivors will suffer life-limiting side effects caused by treatments that damage their bodies. These side effects last a lifetime and can include hearing loss, organ & bone problems and even infertility.

We are one of the only charities in the UK solely dedicated to finding safe new treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. By finding therapies that only target cancerous cells, we hope to create a world where every child can survive cancer and thrive throughout adulthood without suffering side-effects.

As a Local Tin Collection Co-Ordinator you will help us to raise funds for vital research and will:

  • Use your local knowledge to secure a number of new tin hosts in your local area
  • Manage 10 or more tins, collecting, counting and processing donations on a quarterly basis.
  • Pay donations directly to Kidscan, keeping clear and accurate records of all donations received
  • Work with local tin hosts to promote alternative ways of fundraising
  • Receive a full induction, training and support from the Kidscan Team
  • Be supplied will all collection materials needed
  • Be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses
  • Have the opportunity to meet other volunteers at Kidscan events throughout the year and network through our dedicated Facebook Group.

Collection Volunteers must:

  • Be passionate about fundraising and finding safe new treatments for children with cancer and supporting those affected by the disease.
  • Be able to commit to the distribution, collection, counting and professing of a minimum of 10 tins. Depending on the location of tins, this would be a minimum of 2 hours per month.
  • Have excellent numeracy and book keeping skills – with basic IT skills

Fully flexible, this is a fantastic way to give something back to a good cause, around other commitments.

To apply please submit your CV and cover letter to recruitment@kidscan.org.uk
