Community Champions: June

Alison England, our Community Fundraising Manager, brings you our Kidscan Community Fundraising Champions update for June:

“They did it again! The wonderful staff and pupils from Moorside Primary Academy in Droylsden have raised even more money for Kidscan! They decided to do a ‘Kidscan Kind-day’ on 18th June. The children spent time being kind to each other, designing posters about anti-bullying and talking about how they can be kind in and out of school. They combined this with a non-uniform day too and some of the children showed us their fantastic art skills, completing our Kidscan colouring sheets and sending them into us. It was a tricky job for my colleagues and I, selecting a winner from all the fantastic entries, as they were all brilliant!

They did such a wonderful job and raised £275.02!

Moorside have supported Kidscan many times, by creating a beautiful signing video, holding a Christmas jumper day, Childhood cancer awareness collection and now the Kind-day. In total the school have raised a whopping £1404!

A huge thank you to everyone at Moorside Primary Academy!

Kidscan’s Mam Tor 8 Mile trek – nine fabulous people took on the Mam Tor 8-mile trek and smashed their target of £1000 in fundraising too!

The team was supported by the great organisers at Sky Blue adventures who ensured the group had a lovely amble through this part of the Peak District. The team enjoyed lovely views and the weather was perfect! They were even joined by one member’s French Bulldog, Rex who completed the challenge too!

We are delighted to say the group has raised £1140 so far, with more to come! Thank you to each of you for supporting Kidscan and taking on such a fabulous challenge! Also thank you to Paul & Jess from Sky Blue Adventures who arranged the trek and ensured the team were safe throughout the day – WELL done!”
