Community Champions: May

Alison England, our Community Fundraising Manager, brings you our Kidscan Community Fundraising Champions update for May:

St Thomas the Martyr primary school took part in the Captain Tom 100 challenge in April and raised a fantastic £477

Pupils from the youngest in the Nursery (put 100 legs on a centipede) and Reception (plant 100 seeds) through Years 1 to 6 (beat the goalie, roll the ball, make tiny birds, skip and bake all x 100) all took part. Staff could choose between 100 squats, star jumps or 100 second plank – ouch!

The 100 packets of cookies & 100 cupcakes were sold around school, selling out in just 10 minutes!  A great effort from this wonderful school. Thank you for your support!

Our fabulous ambassador Matty and his family wanted to do something for Brain Tumour awareness month and hit on the idea to ‘wear grey for May’.

They set about making these beautiful ribbons adding adorable little silver envelope charms, as a nod to their wonderful Letters from the Lockdown family. They chose to support Kidscan and asked for a donation to come to us in exchange for a ribbon – raising a superb £410 so far! Thank you to Matty and his lovely family for this incredible support.

We are also delighted to share the news of our brand new community partnership with Swinton Square shopping centre. They’ve chosen to support Kidscan over the next year in the aim of raising £10,000!

So, watch this space or visit Swinton Square for some fantastic fundraising events and lots of community activities for you to get involved with.

Thank you to all the businesses and staff at the centre for what will be an amazing year of fundraising!
