From London to Paris!

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of family rivalry, especially when it means raising over £3,000 for charity!

After a night of joking about who was the fittest, three family members, Abusina, Fohad and Rihad decided there was only one way to settle the feud – by cycling from London to Paris.

The group began training just a few weeks before the 284m journey began, and as it was the first time one of the three had been on a bike in 10 years, it wasn’t an easy journey!

But, motivated by their personal experiences, nothing was going to stop the three bikers from reaching their goal. “we’ve all been indirectly affected by cancer, my grandma was diagnosed and she’s finally been given the clear earlier this year. Cancer research is something we’re big advocates of and the stats we see/read about children diagnosed with it is shocking and if we can do the slightest to help drive this number down means the world to us”

With the weather on their side the trio set off from London stopping at Dieppe on their travels. After three days, and just 15 miles to go before reaching their finishing point, they were just £490 off their £3,000 target.

Since raising their bikes at the Eiffel tower, the three smashed their target reaching an amazing £3,630, transforming 3 days’ worth of cycling into 7 weeks’ worth of research to find safer treatments for children diagnosed with cancer.

Everybody at Kidscan wants to give a massive well done to the group!
