If you are looking for a way to support Kidscan on a regular basis, then joining a fundraising group may be for you! Consisting of at least 5 members, our community fundraising groups are a great way to meet new people in your area and do something positive for a great cause!
Meeting regularly each group works together to raise money for Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research by:

Kidscan are currently inviting applications for our first ever fundraising group in Salford, Manchester! Use the links below to find out more or get in touch if you would like to create your own group!
Emma was just 15 months old when she was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma (brain tumour) on her hypothalamus.Emma began twenty months of chemotherapy which was effective at reducing the size of the tumour. Unfortunately when Emma finished chemotherapy the tumour started to grow and after just a 6 month gap Emma had to restart chemotherapy. Now 11 years old, Emma has needed treatment on and off for 10 years to halt the growth of the tumour.
Our community fundraising groups raise an average of £4,000 per year towards research to find more effective treatments for children like Emma.

Fundraising groups are usually made up of 7-10 members who are responsible for making decisions. Members commit a set amount of time and attend meetings and events. Within each group three members will be appointed as the chair, treasurer and the secretary – its their job to help the fundraising group run efficiently.
Each group may also be supported by a group of volunteers who commit time on an ‘ad hoc’ basis – for example carrying out a supermarket collection.
Many fundraising groups meet in local pubs or cafe’s but there are plenty of places willing to lend space for free such as community centre. If you can’t meet face to face, then video chat is just as effective!
At Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research we are keen to support you every step of the way. Through your local community fundraising manager we will be on hand to give you as much (or as little) advice as you need to setup or run your group.
We will:
