Manchester entrepreneur and Spar stores owner Paul Stone raises £25k for Kidscan

Children’s cancer charity, Kidscan, is celebrating a £25k fundraising milestone reached by Manchester entrepreneur and Spar stores owner Paul Stone.

Collected at Paul’s seven central Manchester stores, the continuous generosity of both the customers and staff is proof that every penny really does help.

The money raised will go towards the charity’s pioneering research into discovering new, targeted treatments for childhood cancers. Kidscan does not receive any statutory funding, so relies on the generosity of businesses and the general public.

Ged Carter, Director of Development at Kidscan, said: “It’s a privilege to be partnered with one of Manchester’s best retailers and entrepreneurs. With the support of Paul and his teams and customers, we’re getting closer to the day when all children diagnosed with cancer have a chance to survive and thrive.”

Paul Stone, Spar stores owner, added: “I am delighted that we as a business have been able to raise so much money for Kidscan over the last few years, the generosity of our customers and colleagues is truly amazing. It’s fantastic to be able to support such a great local charity carrying out such valuable work to help children with cancer. I look forward to working in partnership with Kidscan over the next few years. ”
