I’m establishing relationships and working with community groups and individual fundraisers to support them in all aspects of fundraising activities. I also work on raising awareness of our charity in Greater Manchester (further afield when possible!)
I joined Kidscan in January 2019. I worked within the deaf community for 12 years in various roles, with all ages from children through to adults. For the last 4 years I was a freelance sign language interpreter, working within the community interpreting at schools/colleges/universities, appointments, business meeting, for personal matters and even funerals. I also ran deaf awareness training sessions for some of the major football clubs in the UK. You may still see me on the large screen of Goodison park at an Everton game, interpreting in the corner of the screen!
I chose Kidscan because in 2017, my best friend died of cancer quite quickly and my outlook changed. I wanted to change my career in a way that would see impact and change for the good and the opportunity at Kidscan came along. I was brand new to fundraising and the charity sector but I just got stuck in and learned quickly!
Do contact me if you'd like some advice on how to fundraiser or if you have an idea of something you'd like to do, to support Kidscan. We have lots of ideas up our sleeve; from virtually runs (or actually ones when permitted) to bake sale or larger events. I am here to make it as easy as possible and to give you the tools to do it!
I also look after our incredible ambassadors who, along with their families make a huge difference to our charity. So if you would like more information on how to become an ambassador then do contact me.
