Bob’s professional life began within the print media, progressing to senior management positions with a number of major regional evening newspapers.
In the early 90’s Bob moved to the charitable sector as Chief Executive of the Greater Manchester Youth Games attracting the highest attendance of International Olympic Committee Members to a youth event.
In 1994, Bob was bestowed the title of ‘Mancunian of the Year’ past recipients of the title include, L S Lowry, Sir Bob Scott and Sir Alex Ferguson and was invited to Buckingham Palace.
Bob has led many charitable organisations including Greater Manchester Community Foundation, and the International Variety Club Children’s Charity in the North West.
Bob’s strength continues to lie within forging partnerships between the charitable sector and the business/corporate sector.
Bob became Chief Executive of Kidscan in January 2019.
Bob says “Kidscan is dedicated to finding safe new treatments for children diagnosed with cancer; my mission is to work with the Kidscan team, trustees, volunteers and with existing partners and new partners, to take Kidscan to its next level.
