For over thirty years Colin has led strategy and delivery of change programmes across a range of organisations across the world. Colin’s work always aims to ensure that the strategic importance of successful fundraising is also recognised as supporting the wider development and future success of an organisation.
A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Colin has held positions in higher education, cultural and private sectors that include: Alumni Relations Officer at Edinburgh University; Director of Marketing and Development at National Museums of Scotland; and Executive Director of University Advancement at the University of Salford. Colin has provided counsel on fundraising and wider advancement activity to the principals, vice-chancellors, chief executives, directors, governing bodies and professional staff of a wide range of institutions including the universities of Oxford, Bristol, and Cardiff, the British Red Cross, and EMBL – European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg.
Colin joined the Kidscan board to assist in the development of fundraising strategy and to provide a link between the charity and the University of Salford. Since leaving the University in 2016, Colin remains a board member and is particularly interested in the charity’s ambitious plans for its first ever capital fundraising campaign.
