From a previous Kidscan award, methodology has been enhanced towards the synthesis of ultimately the cellular inhibitor (-)-hispidospermidin which is shown to possess anti-cancer and anti-bacterial properties. Synthesis towards the said molecule, with its associated precursors is proposed together with analogues, with their associated analogues, is proposed.
These targeted molecular structures, with molecules mimicking eukaryotic cellular signals, are aimed for as novel and desirable anti-cancer agents and may have the chance to be repositioned in other biological assays if not.
