Next generation multifunctional nanogold radiosensitisers for improved radiation cancer treatment

Working to support the ongoing research in my research group Salford NanoLAB that includes the design of novel multifunctional gold nanoparticles for improvement of risky cancer therapies and improved drug delivery.

Gold nanoparticles can be used to transport drugs. Using them as a transport mechanism can increase the precision of drug delivery and decrease the toxicity to the surrounding cells. I will be synthesising gold nanoparticles and attaching drugs as ligands for in vivo testing to see how effective this is for cancer cells.
