Design and synthesis of new anticancer agents for the treatment of Leukaemia

Aromatic planar compounds are known to interact with DNA and some of the most widely used anticancer agents belong to this family known as intercalators. The project will synthesis a new family of agents and characterise the activity through biophysical and biochemical studies as well as anticancer activity on cell lines.
