Royal Wedding Themed Fundraisers

It’s not long to go until the royal couple’s big day…and we want you to do everything that you can to get involved in aid of Kidscan!

Themed fundraisers are an amazing way to get the kids involved and to be aware of what’s going on in the world around them. No matter how big or small your event is, every bit helps us to keep doing what we do best – researching different medications for children with cancer. This blog is going to give you the easiest guide to organizing an easy fundraising event to celebrate the new happy couple!

Tea Party
Fancy celebrating the welcoming of a new member of the Royal Family in the most British way possible? A tea party is the best way to do just that! Invite all your loved ones to a venue of your choice (most people chose their houses) either on the day to catch a glimpse into the special day, or during the lead up to get everyone excited! In order to raise a donation for Kidscan as well as having all the fun that a tea party offers, charge all your guests a small contribution of your choice and remind them that all donations go directly to the much needed hard work that we put in here at Kidscan. Prepare a few snacks, sandwiches, drinks and whatever you fancy treating your guests to on the night before your day; if you want to add extra excitement to the preparation of your fundraiser, why not get the kids involved and make all your treats yourself!

Greetings cards
Another british tradition is greetings cards – no matter what event. This is an easy way to collect donations, and to let the kids have fun too. Equip the children with some card and craft kits, and let the kids be imaginative and creative!! Once your designs are made, photocopy as many as you are hoping to sell to friends and family and get everyone involved. Charge whatever you think is appropriate for the card, and get selling them to whoever would like to pitch in to your amazing fundraising for Kidscan.

Dress up For Work
Keen to get your colleagues involved too? Have a word with everyone and encourage them to wear a colour they wouldn’t usually wear, theme their outfit the union jack colours, or even wear something wedding themed! Encourage small donations from everyone taking part and let them know that their contributions mean a lot to our small charity. Whether it’s a funny looking tie, some odd socks, or even a tiara! This is a fun, entertaining and easy way to make donations in aid of Kidscan, with next to no organisation required.

Arts and Crafts
We have already suggested getting your kids at home to create some greetings cards…but what about encouraging your local primary school to hold an arts competition, or just a regular arts and crafts day all for the fun to get the kids enjoying themselves. There are many things to encourage kids to get making in an event like this, see below for just a few ideas to engage the children with;

* Colour-me-in pictures
* Design a dress/wedding suit for the bride and groom
* Buntins

There are so many ways to get everyone involved in fundraising for Kidscan and to also celebrate the couple’s special day. Don’t be shy of getting in touch with the team at Kidscan via social media if there is anything you need help with; we want everyone to participate in a special fundraising that you will remember!
