Santa's Christmas Kidscan Grotto Returns for 2021

It’s that time of year again – have you written your letter to Father Christmas yet? Do you think you’ll be on his Naughty or Nice list this year?

Well, why don’t you pop along to his grotto in Droylsden and ask him? Droylsden Santa with visitorsFor the second year running John Charlesworth and Sue Farkas have transformed their garden into a wonderful winter wonderland, filled with magical twinkly lights and the big man himself!

Father Christmas is already working hard, meeting children to hear what they’d like for Christmas. One parent Bethan Hartland, was full of praise for the experience:

‘We visited Santa and Mrs Claus tonight and all I can say is wow! We were absolutely blown away with how amazing they both were. From the extra little details they found out about the kids beforehand, to the jokes about candy canes and stories about the Grinch. Rasing money for amazing charity too! My kids were both a little unsure beforehand if it was the ‘real Santa’ but they left absolutely over the moon with no doubt what’s so ever! Thank you so much, we have two very excited kids tonight!’

Last year, Father Christmas had planned to meet around 100 children, but by the end of the grotto, he’d seen 450, all in a covid-safe environment. Plus, John and Sue, and the generous people of Droylsden, had raised an amazing £2632.14 !This year they have had tons of donations from local businesses for children’s gifts and prizes for the raffle including; hot tub hire, £50 hair and beauty vouchers, meal vouchers, shopping vouchers, wine and much more!

The community of Droylsden have once again come together to ensure the children have the best time and to raise vital funds for Kidscan!

The grotto is on until 19th December, they are currently fully booked but taking details for the waiting list, email droysldensanta1@gmail.com The big raffle prize draw will be held on 20th December.
