Supper Supporter Conquers Fears

Ever thought of pushing yourself to the limit to support a worthy cause? Well that’s exactly what 73 year old Joan Hall did after hearing a talk about Kidscan at her local Women’s Institute meeting.

Joan was so moved by what she heard that she rashly agreed to complete a sponsored zip wire, abseil and crate climb. Before doing so she told us, “Not being a person to go against my word I WILL be doing it despite the fact that 20 years ago I chickened out of an abseil down a tower, so you can see it will be quite a challenge to me.”

Despite her fears Joan, who is County Chair for Trefoil Guild (Girl Guiding) duly completed the challenge at the Girl Guiding Training Centre near Clitheroe and so far has raised the magnificent amount of £1,320! She hopes her exploits may inspire others to do something similar.

We salute you Joan!
