Read MoreA huge thank you from all of us at Kidscan to our recent ‘tin volunteers’, who’ve helped us raise over £2500.As the spectacular Manchester Christmas Markets began, our Fundraising Officer Ian Johnson set out into the city centre on Saturday 27th November, aided by wonderful volunteers mostly from Warwick University Rag.Shaking their tins and waving our latest tech-contactless donation pads, shoppers were in a festive mood as our Kidscan representatives met with enthusiasm and generosity, raising just over £1750.
Next up, Ian was joined by volunteers from the University of Salford’s BioMedSoc and Manchester University students at Piccadilly train station. On the first weekend of December, the station was incredibly busy with Christmas shoppers and revellers heading to the markets, so the collections were short, but very sweet raising almost £750.
Our volunteers are a fantastic help, not only raising money as they shake their tins but also helping to raise awareness of what we do and who we are with the public. Thank you!
