Run for charity

Running a marathon is no small feat. Whether you have been thinking about doing one for many years or watched someone close to you do a marathon recently it is an exciting day full of mixed emotions.

There may be days when you want to give up and knowing you are helping a charity along the way can help overcome those feelings and push through. We’ve provided you with some of the reason people run for charities like Kidscan.

Provides you with a purpose

Beyond finishing a marathon and feeling the sense of achievement, running for a charity will give you a greater sense of fulfilment. It is something greater than yourself and the difference you make by raising awareness and vital funds for your charity.

Marathons are tough alone even with the support of close friends and family members. You may start to doubt yourself and feel tempted just to give up. Knowing you are helping a cause will give you that extra strength needed to train and complete your marathon.

Close to you

You may have a charity that is close to you that has been there to support you, a family or friend during or after a tough time. The support you received from this charity can be the something you will want others to experience when they are going through a similar situation.

Motivation to train

Training for any type of run can be a roller-coaster ride. You will have days where you feel like you can run as far as Forest Gump did and days where you probably get as far as the front door. Either way, motivation plays a big part in this and running for a charity will give that extra push you need.

You won’t be the only person you are running for. You will be running for your charity, your supporters and raising money and awareness for those who need it.

 Ways to enter

Most people when they decided on their charity they want to support can buy charity places or buy their place and contact the charity directly. Kidscan is involved in many of the up and coming running events this year.

As with all charity, they will give you a discount on the event in exchange for raising vital funds for your chosen charity.
