Cancer steals childhoods. KidsCan is fighting to give them back.

Cancer steals childhoods. KidsCan is fighting to give them back.

Since 2002, we've been on a mission to transform the way childhood cancer is treated, funding pioneering research into kinder, more effective treatments and supporting families at every stage of their cancer journeys. Because every child with cancer deserves better.

Children are being let down.

Over 1,900 children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every year. That's more than five per day. It is the leading cause of childhood death, and yet only 2% of UK cancer research funding is directed at children's cancer. The result is devastating, with just four new treatments developed for children in the last 20 years. This means that most children with cancer are treated with therapies designed for adults that are simply watered down and given to children whose bodies are still growing and for whom these treatments were never designed.

WHAT WE DO

KidsCan is there for children and families in two important ways

FUNDING RESEARCH

Kinder, more effective treatments designed specifically for children are possible.

We're funding the pioneering research to make them a reality so that the next generation faces a gentler road to recovery.

Kidscan connect

When your child is seriously ill, you enter a world most people can't imagine. It can be lonely and isolating and no one quite understands what your family is living through.

KidsCan Connect makes sure no family faces this alone by bringing together parents, siblings and whole families through networks, events and days out.

The consequences for young bodies can be profound and long lasting. Thankfully, many children survive but 96% go on to face serious chronic health conditions due to their treatment. With the right research and the right funding, it doesn't have to be this way.
That's why KidsCan exists.

Your support makes a difference

Your support goes directly towards kinder treatments for children with cancer and to make sure no family feels forgotten.
Whatever you can give, it matters.
