Emilie Update

We like to keep you up to date with how our ambassadors are doing from time to time and one who has been part of Kidscan for many years is Emilie, she's a fantastic fundraiser too!

Aged just 2, Emilie was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. With metastasis in both lungs, she needed intensive chemotherapy and a liver transplant.

But fast forward to 2022 and Emilie has just celebrated her 9 year 'liverversary'! With a special cake made by her brother and sister! Her parents are forever grateful to the donor, who was a complete stranger, for giving them the greatest gift of all.
Emilie is still vulnerable to illness and infections which is a constant concern for her parents, recently she suffered quite badly with Covid. She also had tonsillitis, then sinusitis followed by a chest infection.
Any kind of illness such as a common cold can be dangerous for Emilie as her immune system seriously struggling to cope and she’s has to fight off infections.

However Emilie has settled into High School really well, earning success awards despite missing lots of school days since she started. Well done Emilie from all of us at Kidscan, we are very proud of her!
