We’re thrilled to announce that KidsCan will have ten dedicated runners participating in the AJ Bell Great North Run, the world’s biggest and best half marathon! Spanning 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields, this iconic event brings together 60,000 runners for an unforgettable experience. Known for its inclusive atmosphere, fantastic on-route entertainment, and the warm Geordie welcome, the Great North Run is a celebration of community spirit and determination. The energy from thousands of cheering spectators and the familiar “oggy-oggy-oggy” chants create a truly magical atmosphere that must be experienced to be believed.This year’s theme, "Inspired by Greatness," reflects the essence of the Great North Run, showcasing ordinary people achieving extraordinary feats. Since its inception in 1981, the event has seen 1.3 million runners cross the finish line, each inspired by someone, a cause, or a moment. Our runners are no exception, as they take to the streets with passion and purpose, each on their own road to greatness.Unfortunately, tickets for this year’s event are sold out, but we invite you to cheer on our amazing runners as they strive to make a difference for KidsCan. Together, we can celebrate their achievements and support the vital work being done to improve the lives of children affected by cancer.
