KidsCan's annual Christmas Panto event was created to give families affected by childhood cancer a moment to switch off, come together, and simply enjoy being a family, and the feedback we’ve received shows just how meaningful that time was.Families described the day as “fantastic,” “absolutely amazing,” and “really well organised,” with many highlighting how relaxed and supported they felt throughout the event. From the moment families arrived, it was clear that being surrounded by others who truly understand the cancer journey made a real difference.

A Day That Made Families Feel Supported

Parents told us the event made them feel happy, included, comfortable and supported, with one family sharing how special it was to see so many familiar faces and meet others who are on a similar path. Creating safe, welcoming spaces where families don’t need to explain themselves is at the heart of everything KidsCan does, and the event feedback shows just how important those moments of connection are.

Food, Venues and Organisation

The venues and catering were praised for being welcoming, accommodating and family-friendly, with families commenting on the quality of the food and the kindness of staff. Communication in the run-up to the event and on the day itself was also highlighted as a real strength, helping families feel confident and cared for from start to finish.

Looking Ahead

When asked about future events, families shared some wonderful ideas from bowling days and craft sessions to outdoor activities in the warmer months. These suggestions will help shape KidsCan's upcoming programme as we continue to build events that bring connection and support to families when they need it most.KidsCan is incredibly grateful to every family who took the time to share their feedback. It helps us learn, grow and ensure that everything we do continues to make a genuine difference. If you would like to join an upcoming KidsCan event please visit the Events page or email: info@kidscan.org.uk
