At KidsCan, we’re passionate about inspiring kids to get outside and improve their health and cycling skills. This year, in partnership with Hope Academy, we’re launching the Pedal for Hope: KidsCan x Hope Academy Summer Cycle Challenge, and we need you to join us, along with celebrities like Guy Martin and Olympic cyclist Ed Clancy, in the race to find kinder cancer treatments for children. Putting the Wheels in Motion Are you part of a company with cycling enthusiasts? Do you cycle to work or teach your kids to ride? We're calling on businesses and individuals to take part in our remote cycling challenge to help beat cancer and support the development of kinder treatments. From July 20th, over six weeks, participants will cycle the equivalent of either Land’s End to John O'Groats (874 miles for groups) or Coast to Coast (137 miles for individuals). This symbolic ride mirrors KidsCan's new digital community hub, which aims to connect children battling cancer and isolation across the UK. Why KidsCan Needs You to Pedal for Hope In the UK, 20% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive due to limited treatment options. Of those who do survive, 60% suffer from life-altering disabilities caused by treatments. These side effects often result in prolonged hospital stays, leaving children isolated and lonely. To combat this, KidsCan is launching the KidsCan Community Support and Resource Hub, a digital platform to connect children across the UK with weekly online support groups and valuable resources. How You Can Pedal for Hope We’re calling on all cyclists, whether amateur or advanced, to join this remote challenge. Open to everyone, regardless of age, location, or ability, all you need is an active Strava account or the ability to track your miles and upload them to your fundraising page. Sign up as an individual or group, select your challenge, and start securing sponsorship through your personalised fundraising page. Sign up as a group / corporate Sign up as an individual / family By coming together, we can demonstrate the unifying power of digital technology and collective action.
