This is an oldie but still a goodie. Stand out with a theme that’s on point with your fundraising focus, like baked goods made from locally sourced ingredients to benefit local farmers. One of the oldest and still one of the most effective methods to fundraise if done right. Before you run to the kitchen and begin baking all those amazing foods we all love there are a few things to consider.

Know your audience

Make sure you have a good idea of the type of people who will be enjoying your baked goods. A good way to start is by asking or observing what types of delights they enjoy eating and begin to create a list. Are they for individuals or are there some options to buy group size cakes? Are they gluten-free options? Once you have done this you’ll be thanking yourself later.

Time & location

You want to be able to have a place that has a high volume of traffic flow. Take note of various places that you believe would have a lot of people walk past or through and see if you can set up a store there. Another factor to consider is time. Do people often walk past or through at certain times of the day? If so, then that is your times you should have your store running.

Pricing system

How much do you plan to charge? Consider how much you spend on ingredients for everything. You don’t want to be making a loss but not covering your expenses. Another good tip is to have a few prices instead of many. For example use whole numbers e.g. £2, £3, £5 so that it is to understand.

It is ideal to make everything as easy as possible for the person to purchase from your bake sale.
