Tumour cells are surrounded by other cells which help them to survive and grow, this is called the tumour microenvironment, finding ways to stop these cells can help in stopping the tumour itself growing.
One of the cell types that are found in this microenvironment and help the tumours grow are called cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). This study is looking at the link between these CAFs and the tumour cells and whether way they communicate with each other could be stopped which would help to stop the tumours growing.
