Kidscan is offering a number of awards up to £65,000 per anum, to support individuals working in any area of children’s cancer research.

About The Grant

Kidscan PhD Studentship grants provide funding to enable PhD students to explore areas of research related to the diagnosis, causes, treatment and well-being of young adults and children suffering from cancer.

Funding of up to £65,000 will be provided over three years and includes a stipend of (£15,000 to £16,000), bench fees, and conference attendance fees. All applicants should have an agreement with their department/institution that tuition fees will be paid in house or waived. A London weighting uplift of £2,000 per annum will be applied, raising the total award available to £71,000 for London based applications.

Kidscan will also consider applications for consumables-only awards, where costs for stipend and tuition fees have been met by a separate funding body (up to £5,000 per annum).

Applications should be made by the prospective supervisor, all applications will be required to undergo a thorough process of scientific peer review, using independent reviewers. Reviewers’ reports and application forms will then be considered for funding by Kidscan’s Scientific Committee. Grant Value
