I joined Kidscan in 2018, as Marketing Manager. It was a really exciting time to join and I was able to get stuck into a tonne of great projects including the launch of a fresh new website and updated brand. After a couple of years I took on my current role as Head of Operations and Marketing. My responsibilities are varied and every day is something different which is great! From working on the charity’s strategy to posting on social media, or throwing on a purple T-shirt and representing Kidscan at one of the many events we host throughout the year – it’s never boring!
Prior to joining Kidscan, I worked in an in-house marketing team within a University, where I held a few positions from International Marketing Executive to Marketing Manager. It was an incredible time in my career where I gained a lot of experience with different marketing techniques across different target audiences and territories. Before that I was a Brand Manager for a chain of bars across the North West – it was a really hands on role – which is something that has stuck with me to this day and my role in Kidscan.
Before starting my career, I graduated from Salford University with a BA (Hons) in Design for Digital Media. It was an incredible course where I got a lot of industry experience. For me it’s fantastic that I now work in a charity hosted by the same University I graduated from! In a sense I have come full circle, and it’s always great to share my experiences with students, and offer them the opportunity to gain professional experience at Kidscan during their studies, the way I did when I was in their shoes!
