Kidscan's Community Champions for September

Kidscan celebrates our community fundraising champions for September 2020.

Morrisons, Eccles Charity Day: 

The fantastic team at Morrisons led by Sue, hosted a charity day in aid of Kidscan, going all out to raise awareness for us during Childhood Cancer Awareness month.  

All the staff got involved holding a raffle, selling Kidscan merchandise and gold badges. We are very grateful for all the support that the team showed Kidscan raising whopping £529 on the day, plus the Morrisons Fund will kindly matchfund this, so it’s a total of over £1000 from Morrisons. This will pay for 100 hours of vital research so it’s a huge – THANK YOU !! 

One Stop Shop, Urmston: Liz and all the staff at One Stop got into the swing of things holding fancy-dress day at work! 

Customers were invited to try win on the raffle or to buy our gold pin badges and wristband, raising £190 for Kidscan. Well Done to everyone! 

Roe Green Residents group: The wonderful residents of Roe Green, Worsley have joined a regular Lucky Numbers Draw raising money for Kidscan every week! Kev Wrighttheir local postman and a fantastic support of Kidscan, set it up. He’s raised money for us in the past and wanted to get involved again as our charity is close to his heart.  

Kev and the residents have raised £700 so far since August and with £75 coming in every weekthis figure is set to climb. We are so grateful for people like Kev and thank you to everyone who takes part and supports Kidscan! 

Barrys Fundraiser: Barry Hobin set up a Facebook birthday fundraiser attracting donations to Kidscan from friends and family. 

On top of this he decided to dye his hair and moustache PURPLE! His current total is £301 but hasn’t stopped yet. What a smashing guy and we think the colour suits him. Thank you, Barry, for being a great sport! 

Gold For campaign Ambassadors: Our fabulous Kidscan Ambassador families showed off their fundraising skills by selling our Gold For Pin Badges to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness month and did a fantastic job!! 

Emilie and her mum Becky raised over £330 by selling to schoolmates, family and friends. 

Ellie and her mum Leanne raised £120 even whilst self-isolating and have popped pin boxes in local shops too. 

Isla and her mum Jill hit the park and the local community around Roe green raising money while getting fresh air and exercise!

Amy and her mum Faye have been busy bees selling our badges while her dad handed them into the police station. Luckily, he is a police officer and his colleagues were happy to buy! 

Theo is currently on Ward 84 awaiting a bone marrow transplant and receiving intensive chemotherapy. But along with his mum Katt, he has continued to support Kidscan raising £670 selling pin badgesDespite Theo being very poorly he still has a wonderful smile for everyone. 

Champion Local Businesses: 

The Rose N Bowl restaurant in Bacup hosted a gold pin box for us and have made up the money raised to £100 – Thank you so much!
