Blog Content Volunteers

Kidscan are looking for a number of volunteers to contribute to the Kidscan blog by writing about topics related to childhood cancer research. Pieces will be added to the Kidscan website and published across our social media channels.

Volunteers are welcome to write their own pieces, all we ask is that the title and outline of your piece is approved before writing to ensure it is inline with our content strategy.  Content must be related to:

  • Latest childhood cancer research developments
  • Developments in parliament affecting childhood cancer and research
  • Late effects of childhood cancer treatments & how they affect children
  • Childhood cancer treatments & how they affect children

Pieces should be between 500 and 1000 words and must be able to be understood by a lay audience as well as those with a scientific knowledge.

Volunteers can either submit pieces or are welcome to join us in the office for training on how to upload content to our website. Volunteers can also work with our design team to create infographics to complement their pieces.

All volunteers will receive full support and will need to attend an induction session in the office which can be arranged around your commitments. Content can then we written at home or at the Kidscan office based on the University of Salford campus.
