Read MoreKidsdan are looking for a number of volunteers to help update the information on our website. This includes researching the latest facts & figures, translating scientific information into lay terms, updating the website itself and working with our design team to create infographics to explain complex information.

The project can be split across a number of volunteers and work can be completed at home or from the Kidscan office based at the University of Salford. All volunteers will receive full support and will need to attend an induction session in the office which can be arranged around your commitments.
Information we need updating includes;
Different Childhood cancers
1 x childhood cancer info page and one page on each cancer
E.g leukemia, medulloblastoma, CNS etc
How they form, survival rates, signs & symptoms, how they are diagnosed & treated.
Childhood cancer treatments
1 x cancer treatments page and one page on each treatment
E.g chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, Proton beam, targeted therapies
How they work, if they cause late effects etc.
In addition to updating existing information on the website we are also looking to develop new sections. This includes:
Childhood Cancer late effects
1 x info page plus one page per late effect
E.g heart damage, bone damage etc
What are the different late effects? Why do they occur? How many people do they affect?
Childhood cancer research
To be scoped depending on content
What is childhood cancer research? How are new treatments developed?
