Facebook Birthday Fundraising

Alison England, our Community Fundraising Manager, shares a fun way colleagues have been doing their bit.

“At Kidscan we work tirelessly raising money for much needed research, and as traditional charity fundraising has suffered so much during the pandemic, as a team we’ve had to adapt to new ways of working and engaging with our supporters.

Finding new ways to fundraise via online events and virtually have formed an important part of this, giving staff opportunities to step up to the plate too.

As their lockdown-birthdays approached, Beth, Sarah and Helen all set up fundraising pages on Facebook to encourage friends and family to donate to Kidscan for their birthday. What a fantastic way to (virtually) come together to celebrate a birthday but also give to a charity.

They’ve collectively raised over £600 which pays for 60 hours of vital research – well done and thank you ladies!

Its such an easy way to raise funds as the money comes directly to Kidscan to fund vital research into new, gentler treatments for childhood cancer. And all you need to do is simply share your page. You can use your birthday, Christmas, an event you are running/ taking part in or just because you want to support our charity. All you need to do is click the fundraising button on Facebook to get started!”
