Human beings perform well when they are supported by a strong network of friends & family. When you decide to do an event or challenge for a charity, it can be daunting at first glance however with the reassurance from your network and charity, and these activities will be a wonderful experience.

Family support

Families are there to provide you with a support network that you can rely on. They want you to succeed in whatever endeavour you decide and can provide suggestions and ideas on how to fundraise or hold you accountable.

Support from friends

Friends are a great support network. When you have a handful of friends that you can rely on it will make the activates a little bit easier. It may be that quiet friend who listens to your problems and talks you through it or that one extroverted friend who gets you out of bed when you want to tap that snooze button one more time.

Either way, having your group of friends there to count on is a great feeling when you decide to take on a marathon or a challenge of your own.

Work colleagues

Work colleagues can also be a valuable asset to have in your support network. They may have experience in fundraising or ran a marathon in the past and will offer some insight on what worked and didn’t work.

You may have heard the term, ‘what goes around comes around’. If you have supported your work colleagues in the past, there is a good chance they may offer to help you back.
